Repair

Our repair service takes advantage of the newest technological advances to optimize your elevator’s efficiency and performance and address any code compliance issues.

AIGTCC understands how quickly codes change and we will check all major components of both elevators and escalators to determine if local and national code upgrades are up-to-date. After each survey, we can recommend aesthetic improvements, performance enhancements, replacement of obsolete components or special feature modifications.
AIGTCC can help you gain the maximum potential for your elevator system. Our TKPlan evaluates your needs and helps to maximize the return on your investment.

TKPlan is a strategic planning tool that includes:

  • Surveys on existing equipment
  • Historic performance evaluations
  • Opportunities identification
  • Recommendations for upgrades or modifications
Whether you want to protect the interior of your elevator from damage or create an updated look, we have the products you need.

Cab interiors
Since customers experience elevator interiors every day, cab appearance is a critical factor in how passengers gauge the "quality" of the elevator. Over time, cab walls, flooring, handrails and ceilings become dated, damaged or no longer match the rest of the building. Services from AIGTCC can keep your elevator looking its best.

Fixtures
Tactile elements and finishes are the functional accent pieces that define the elevator environment. Use of braille identification and tone position indicators ensure maximum usability for all. Accessory hardware, like lanterns and position indicators, meet both the aesthetic and functional demands of the marketplace. Custom options, finishes and engravings are available where required.

Cab pads
Cab pads protect the interior walls of the elevator cab from potential damage caused by movers, freight, deliveries or tenants. The fire-retardant pads come in durable fabric or heavy-duty vinyl and in a variety of colors, custom-made to your specifications with cutouts for operating panels.
If the ride on your hydraulic elevator isn’t as smooth and comfortable as you think it should be, we have the products to improve its performance.

Power Units Power (or pump) units provide power to the elevator and enable smooth starts and stops, as well as even leveling – reducing risks associated with tripping.

Solid State Starters Solid-state starters apply smooth and steady current to a motor. Old, mechanical starters can create power surges and also require extra inspections and maintenance.

Valve Upgrades Defective or worn hydraulic valves cause inconsistent oil flow, leading to abrupt starts and stops, as well as stalling. New valves have been designed and engineered to replace virtually any valve.
You need your elevator to maintain peak performance levels throughout its life span. These products help bring older elevators and components up to the current levels of technology.

Door Operators
Door operators open and close elevator doors constantly but, through use, become inefficient, unreliable or obsolete. New door operators, as well as upgrade kits, can improve the safety and performance of key components of the existing operator while ensuring national safety codes are met.

Freight Door Upgrades
Freight door upgrades reduce the risk of injury or entrapment and are compliant with the latest codes.

Solid State Logic Replacement
Solid State Logic Replacement (SSLR) is designed for exact retrofit of Dover Solid State hydraulic controllers. The solid-state card cage and miscellaneous components are directly replaced with an SSLR overlay, eliminating worn, aging parts and upgrading the controller to microprocessor programmable logic.
Keep your passengers comfortable and your elevator operating efficiently, and improve your cab environment with products from AIGTCC.

Cab Air Conditioners
Cab air conditioners provide comfortable climate control in elevators. Hot air is drawn from the cab, cooled down and forced back into the cab by a motorized fan.

Cab Fans
Cab fans are specifically designed to provide maximum air distribution throughout the cab. Fans draw climate controlled air from each landing, circulate it in the cab and release stagnant air into the hoistway.

Oil Coolers
Oil coolers continuously monitor hydraulic oil temperature. When the temperature reaches a preset limit, the oil is externally circulated through a heat exchanger that cools it and returns it to the tank to avoid overheating.

Tank Heaters
Tank heaters maintain consistent hydraulic oil temperatures to prevent rough starts associated with cold oil.
We have a full line of products to help protect your passengers in the event of an emergency. Battery Lowering Kits
A battery-lowering unit provides automatic backup power for a hydraulic elevator when the building loses power. The unit returns the elevator to the designated landing and opens the doors, allowing passengers to exit safely.

Door Restrictors
Door restrictors keep passengers safe by locking the doors when the elevator car is outside the unlocking zone (18" above and below the landing). This device prevents passengers from attempting to escape from a car that has stopped between landings.

Emergency Phones
Emergency, push-button phones allow trapped or disabled passengers to call for help. These phones dial pre-programmed phone numbers until a live person is reached.

Emergency Power Lowering Systems
An Emergency Power Lowering System (EPLS) provides automatic or manual return of a traction elevator to a predetermined landing during a blackout or single-phase electrical condition. When the elevator reaches the designated landing, passengers can open the car doors by pressing the “Door Open” button.

Emergency Lighting
Emergency lights work during a power loss. They meet both lighting and alarm codes per ANSI 17.1 and contain maintenance-free, nickel-cadmium batteries and solid-state circuitry with accessory terminals for use with 6V DC alarm bell.

Firefighter's Service
Firefighter’s Service returns elevators to designated landings, prevents normal operation, and allows only special operation by firefighters or other authorized emergency personnel.
Elevators are used by millions of people every day. Responsible building owners are doing their part to keep people safe by upgrading their existing vertical transportation equipment to meet all local and national safety codes. Maintaining the integrity of your elevators protects your passengers and reduces liability.

Electronic Safety Edges
New door safety systems use electronic micro-light, infrared beams that cover the doorway of the elevator. When the beams are broken, the doors retract. Unlike old mechanical systems, the new doors do not come into contact with either passengers or objects.

Packing Replacement
Jack packing provides a seal on the jack head and prevents oil from leaking into the elevator pit.

Pit Safety Equipment
The pit safety kit includes a pit ladder, pit work light and pit stop switch to meet national codes, reduce the risk of injury and provide a safer working environment.

Safety Tests
Safety tests require weights equal to the full elevator capacity to be loaded and the elevator’s braking systems checked and evaluated.

Single-Bottom Cylinder Replacement
The cylinder of a typical below-ground hydraulic elevator is installed in the ground beneath the elevator car where it is exposed to the risk of corrosion and electrolysis. These cylinders may leak oil if more than 30 years old, contaminating the environment and endangering passengers.

*The ASME A17.1-2000 National Elevator Safety Code has a provision that requires single-bottom cylinders be replaced with double-bottom cylinders or be equipped with code-compliant safeties.

Swing Door Guards
Swing door guards block the space between the door and a scissor-type elevator car door. The space must be no more than 4" with a scissor gate and 5 1/2" if the elevator car has a door.

Shut-Off and Overspeed Valves
A shut-off valve manually disconnects oil flow from the tank to the oil line to allow for maintenance. An overspeed valve stops an elevator car from rapid, uncontrolled descent, protecting against oil supply line failure between the valve and the power unit.

Safety Signage
Braille and code signs are required by national codes for use in and around elevators to provide visually impaired passengers with crucial information, such as direction, position, exit and emergency protocol.
Escalators are used by millions of people every day. Responsible building owners are doing their part to keep people safe by upgrading their existing equipment to meet all local and national safety codes.

Escalator Handrails
Escalator handrails glide in unison with the moving steps, so passengers can hold on to the handrails for balance.

Escalator Safety Brushes
Escalator safety brushes mount to the skirt panel or inner decking of the escalator and alert passengers when they are too close to the gap between the step and skirt panel.

Escalator Voice Announcers
Escalator voice announcers play digitized pre-programmed, human-voice safety messages in random sequence to keep passengers alert to common dangers on a moving escalator.
